Breaking @ WPS – voted most impressive show!
The art of breaking… other than your bones!
To start with, let us give you a taste of what Breaking – or Tameshiwari – is. That man below, Master Jonathan Field, is breaking 8 thick wood boards with his elbow, that’s right!
The United States and World Breaking Association (USBA/WBA) and the International Sport Karate Association (ISKA) put up the first ever European Breaking Championships with competitors coming all the way from the USA, Canada and Ireland!
For those of you who have missed it at the World Power Show, the show was simply incredible, almost hard to watch at times. The competitors had to adapt to some difficult materials (especially Irish wood, wow).
But images speak more than words, so here’s a preview of some of the European Breaking Championships awesome wood and concrete breaks:
Make sure to visit the official USBA/WBA Facebook page where you’ll find compilations of impressive elbow, palm and foot breaks, as well as pics of the winners.
Huge congratulations and thank you to GrandMaster Ralph Bergamo and Masters Drew Serrano, Keith Fanning, Adam Grogin, Jonathan Field and John Zurisk for putting up such an excellent competition and demos! Looking forward to seeing you all again next year.
